Antonio Rodriguez
Designer Antonio Rodriguez was born in 1963 and grew up in Spain. After studying in Valencia and Milan, he moved to Milan in the 1990s, worked at the Taipei Design Center and was a lecturer at the European Design Institute (IED) from 2000 to 2005. He worked with brands such as Hitachi, Mattel and Toshiba before joining Studio Matteo Thun in 1999.
Antonio Rodriguez and Matteo Thun have worked together for over twenty years and have enjoyed continued success both independently and together as a studio. Antonio's approach to design is one of sophistication, simplicity and innovation, resulting in icons of utility, timelessness and beauty. Dialogue with clients' technical teams, coupled with his pursuit of simplicity and personality, has resulted in cutting-edge designs and established long-term collaborations with companies such as Zwilling, Zucchetti, Fantini, Axent and Ethimo.
Curiosity and flexibility allow Antonio and his team to design a wide variety of products and furnishings. Just like Matteo Thun, he works on both small and large scales. Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez's projects are known for developing the concept of 'made in Italy' for a new generation, combining sophisticated, essential aesthetics with intuitive functionality.
The sustainable aspect of COLORNETWORK particularly encouraged Antonio to support this project. We would like to thank Antonio and his team for the cooperation and his elaboration of this timeless and beautiful Sustained Color No. 9.
